Gadgetz 2008

Sony Ericson's w705 Walkman Phone

Check out Sony Ericsson's W705 Walkman phone with a MBS-900 Bluetooth 2.1 speaker supports 2.1 channels with integrated stereo speakers and subwoofer. The W705 is a UMTS/HSPA 900/2100 slider with DLNA-compliant Wi-Fi, shake control, a 2.4-inch display, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with a 4GB memory card, supports SE’s Clear Bass and Clear Stereo audio DSP systems, and has Bluetooth to stream music either to headphones or to the MBS-900. It also uses SensMe software that creates playlists based on a user's mood.

Connectivity is either wireless or via a 3.5mm input; we are thinking you will get better quality sound from the latter. The speaker has a monochrome OLED display for track titles and music settings, and has an FM radio. Music is automatically muted when the phone rings. I have idea when will be out but these products is expected to be launched by the 1st quarter of 2009.

Philips Luxe MP3 Player with a Bluetooth Headset

Philips Luxe MP3 Playe is a Boasting a prism-like motif and integrated Bluetooth 2.1 functionality that can be paired with the cellphone and never miss a call while listening to music, a one-line LCD also lets you view the caller's number. It hasn't exactly sent us into uncontrollable fits of jubilation of late, but the latest DAP to fall under the aforesaid umbrella doesn't look half bad.
It also has 2GB of memory, a FM tuner, Philips' proprietary FullSound for CD-quality enhancement of digitally compressed tracks, and a decent 10 hours of playback time with 100 hours on standby. The Philips Luxe MP3 player-cum-cellphone headset will cost approx $95; the device will initially be launched in Singapore next month for around S$139 ($92), followed by Thailand, Malaysia, India, China, and Southeast Asia.
